Frances O’Brien, Customer Relationship Officer, Southwark Council

“Niblock were contracted to deliver internal and external works for a Council owned residential block in the London Borough of Southwark. The Niblock project team and subcontractors were efficient, responsive and solution focused in delivering a Quality Home Improvement Programme (QHIP). The contract was completed on time and high quality workmanship and excellent customer satisfaction was achieved“.

Martyn Grant, Associate Director Building Consultancy, ProMission Surveyors

“Niblock were appointed on behalf of Redwood Co-Op to carry out Phase 1 kitchen and bathroom renewals at the OXO Tower Wharf in Bankside. The contract value was circa £100k plus Vat and the contract duration was 8 weeks. Having met with each individual occupier and agreed convenient start dates, Niblock carried out and completed the works in both a professional and time efficient manner with the contractor formally receiving PC on the contractual completion date.

The Niblock management staff and site operatives remained constant throughout the period and quickly gained the trust of the residents and were able to work in the flats without the need for any third party supervision. Project costs were well controlled and only justifiable variations were included in interim and final accounts making the process simple. In all both ProMission and Redwood Co-Op were extremely satisfied with the service and the high level of workmanship and finish delivered. ProMission would have no reservations in working with Niblock in the future”.

George Peters, Building Surveyor, Potter Raper Partnership

Damian Roberts, Director of Operations, Waverley Borough Council

“Thank you for Niblock’s contribution to the excellent celebration event. I really enjoyed our conversation and have been reflecting on your approach to staff management, which the evidence shows has been incredibly successful.

I have been deeply impressed by the work of your company at Rolston House, and particularly the quality of resident engagement. It has inspired confidence at every level.

As I mentioned, Waverley would be happy to be put forward as a reference for any future work that you bid for.

Thank you and your team very much again”.

Stephen Hoad BSc (Hons) MCIOB, Principal Surveyor, Better Homes, CityWest Homes Ltd.

“Niblock completed a window renewal programme at Odhams Walk, Covent Garden, for City West Homes.

I was really happy with the work and management of the company. I found them to be a professional company, non-adversarial and committed to the project delivery.

They delivered the project on time and on budget and I would be pleased to work with them again”.

Richard Mehmed, Managing Director, National Community Wood Recycling Project

“Thanks to the commitment of Niblock to use our national wood waste collection service, social enterprises that work under the Community Wood Recycling umbrella have earned more than £1 Million in collection fees since its’ launch in 2009. We are so proud of reaching this target that I wanted to to tell you about the impact this had had.

We estimate that each £20,000 of turnover results in a sustainable job, so Niblock has helped to create 50 permanent jobs in social enterprise, as well as 13,500 days of volunteering each year! In weight, over 7000 tonnes of wood has been rescued from landfill – much of which was pushed up the wage hierarchy into reuse, reducing the need for virgin timber and lowering the environmental impact of felling, processing and transportation.

Each Community Wood Recycling Enterprise (there are now 27 throughout the country) is financially self-supporting and relies on the income from collections of wood waste to achieve their aims of saving resources and creating work and training for disadvantage people.

I thank you for working with us and hope that you will continue to help us save resources and create jobs in the months and years to come”.
