Denim for Dementia 2026

Today we swapped workwear for denim to support an important cause.

Denim for Dementia is a reminder that awareness, compassion and support can make a real difference to those living with dementia and the people around them.

We are proud to help raise awareness and support the incredible work being done for individuals and families affected by dementia.

Oakwood Court Opening Ceremony

A fantastic milestone for all involved as Niblock attended the grand opening of Oakwood Court Care Home with Sussex Housing & Care, Lawson Queay Chartered Surveyors, WWA Studios and Councillor Abdul Bashar.

This event marked the successful completion of our major refurbishment and extension project, which has not only modernised the care home, but also enhanced its capacity and facilities. The extensive works have created thoughtfully designed living spaces and improved communal areas, all aimed at providing a safe, comfortable and high-quality environment for residents and staff alike.

We sincerely hope the residents of Oakwood Court enjoy the space for years to come.

Glen Martin MCIOB

We are delighted to congratulate Glen Martin MCIOB on achieving Chartered Membership with the CIOB – a fantastic and well-deserved milestone.

This accomplishment reflects not only Glen’s strong commitment to professional development, but also his dedication and resilience in balancing this journey alongside project responsibilities. Throughout this process, we have been proud to support Glen – providing encouragement and the resources needed to help him succeed.

At Niblock, we are committed to helping our team develop and reach their full potential, and it is great to see that commitment contributing to such an important achievement.

Women in Construction

As Women in Construction Week comes to a close, and with International Women’s Day approaching on Sunday, we have been reflecting on the fantastic women across Niblock Building Contractors and Niblock Electrical Services.

We are proud to recognise and celebrate the talented women within our teams whose skills, dedication and hard work contribute to the successful delivery of our projects every day. Their commitment and expertise play an important role in strengthening our business and the wider construction industry.

Thank you to the women in our teams, and across the sector, for the valuable contribution you make.

Carbon3 Energy Academy

A great morning at the Carbon 3 Training Centre, taking part in a collaborative workshop with CARBON3 and our client, Saxon Weald, who we are currently supporting to retrofit their housing stock under the WH:SHF Wave 3 funding scheme.

Carbon3 provided a detailed presentation and live demonstration on the PV system being installed. This hands-on approach highlighted the strength of our collaborative working practices and gave the Saxon Weald team valuable insight into the system’s performance, installation, and application on site.

Thank you to Mike Shipp and the team at Carbon3 for a well-organised and insightful session.

“The engaging session provided practical, hands-on insight and strengthened the collaborative approach across the project.” Marcus Pitt, Senior Contract Manager.

Heathside School

Respecting Milly Dowler’s Legacy While Enhancing Safety at Heathside School

Our fire compliance project at Heathside School has now been successfully completed. Works took place over the school holidays and included the design and construction of a three-storey external escape staircase, with follow-up works completed over a series of weekends.

A key consideration throughout the project was the Milly Dowler Memorial Garden, a space of deep significance within the school that commemorates the life of former Heathside student Milly Dowler and reflects the school’s commitment to remembrance, care and community values. Milly’s garden was created in 2004 and serves as a peaceful place for students to sit and enjoy during their break and lunch times.

We recognised the importance of this area to the school community and approached all associated works with care and sensitivity. We donated new plants to help further enhance and protect this special space for future generations.
We are proud to have delivered this essential safety upgrade while maintaining the integrity of such a significant part of the school.

Christmas Jumper Day

We were delighted to take part once again in Christmas Jumper Day, proudly supporting Save the Children UK.
Our team embraced the festive spirit in full colour – all while helping raise funds for an amazing cause that supports children and families across the globe. A big thank you to everyone who got involved – your generosity truly makes a difference.

Well done, team Niblock!

Christmas Warm Packs

We were delighted to collaborate with several of our supply chain partners, ESSEX FIRE PROTECTION SERVICES LTD, RiskFire, Norris – Waste Management Services and Mid Essex Environmental Ltd, to deliver 500 Christmas Warm Packs to the residents within our Evolve Housing scheme.

Each bag has been thoughtfully put together with essentials to support residents during the colder months, including hats, gloves, scarves, toiletry kits, bags, food items and other winter necessities.

Yesterday, we had the pleasure of meeting with Emma Pond and Jon Deakin, at Evolve Housing + Support, and working side-by-side with some of our supply chain partners to pack the bags. It was a great team effort and a wonderful reminder of what we can achieve through collaboration and community spirit.

Oakwood Court Care Home

Delivering high-quality, sustainable care spaces for the future

We are proud to have partnered with Sussex Housing & Care to deliver a major refurbishment and extension at Oakwood Court Care Home – a project designed to meet the growing need for high-quality care spaces.

The project included:
✅ 31 new en-suite bedrooms – increasing capacity to 60 residents
✅ Enhanced communal and staff facilities
✅ A new permeable car park with EV charging
✅ Ecological collaboration to protect and rehome 78 bats discovered on-site

Through careful phasing and close collaboration with residents, staff and the design team, we ensured continuity of care while creating a brighter, more sustainable environment for everyone.
We have now progressed to the next phase, which involves internal refurbishment within the existing building.
