Project Update: Melville Court

Works at Melville Court continue to progress positively, with the team achieving an important early milestone as scaffolding was completed 12 days ahead of programme, supporting the successful delivery of the next stages of the project.

With Gateway 2 approval secured prior to commencement, the project has progressed with confidence, ensuring compliance with the requirements of the Building Safety Act 2022 and Higher-Risk Building (HRB) regulations from the outset.

Roofing works are now progressing across the main roof, tank rooms and bay roofs, with façade works scheduled to commence shortly. Internal refurbishment works to the 56 residential units will follow as the project moves into the next phase of delivery.

The project remains on programme, with a strong focus on safe working practices, quality workmanship, cost control and minimising disruption for residents throughout the works

Marcus Pitt

Today, we celebrate and thank Marcus Pitt, who is retiring later this week after an incredible 46 years with Niblock.

Joining us as a 16-year-old apprentice carpenter and joiner, Marcus has dedicated his entire career to the company, making a lasting contribution through his hard work, professionalism and commitment.

His retirement also marks a remarkable milestone for the Pitt family, whose connection with Niblock now spans an incredible 106 years across three generations.

On behalf of the Directors and everyone at Niblock, thank you, Marcus, for your outstanding service and dedication. We wish you a long, happy and well-deserved retirement!

Marcus Pitt:
“After 46 years with the company, the time has come for me to retire. I joined Niblock as a 16-year-old apprentice carpenter and joiner, and I could never have imagined where that first step would lead. What began as an apprenticeship turned into a long and rewarding career, full of challenges, opportunities, good people, and memories I’ll always look back on fondly.

Niblock has been a wonderful company to work for throughout my career. The people, the ethos, the standards, and the way the business has grown over the years have made it a special place to be, and I’ve been lucky to spend my whole working life here.

I’d like to thank all the colleagues, clients, and consultants I’ve worked with over the years. It’s been a privilege to work alongside so many good people.

On a personal note, I’m proud of my father’s 45 years at Niblock and now both my son and daughter are now part of the Niblock team. It means a lot to know the Pitt family connection (106 years) with the company will carry on into the next generation.

I look forward to seeing Niblock continue to go from strength to strength in the years ahead- thank you to everyone who has been part of the last 46 years”.

Niblock Electrical Apprenticeship Success

We were proud to attend the JTL National Awards 2026 to support Maddie from Niblock Electrical Services, who, as a second-year apprentice, reached the national finals for Rising Star of the Year.

Following her recent success in being named Southern Region Rising Star of the Year, reaching the national finals is another fantastic achievement and a testament to her hard work, dedication and talent.

Congratulations, Maddie – a brilliant achievement and one the whole Niblock team is proud to celebrate.

Oakwood Court Opening Ceremony

A fantastic milestone for all involved as Niblock attended the grand opening of Oakwood Court Care Home with Sussex Housing & Care, Lawson Queay Chartered Surveyors, WWA Studios and Councillor Abdul Bashar.

This event marked the successful completion of our major refurbishment and extension project, which has not only modernised the care home, but also enhanced its capacity and facilities. The extensive works have created thoughtfully designed living spaces and improved communal areas, all aimed at providing a safe, comfortable and high-quality environment for residents and staff alike.

We sincerely hope the residents of Oakwood Court enjoy the space for years to come.

Carbon3 Energy Academy

A great morning at the Carbon 3 Training Centre, taking part in a collaborative workshop with CARBON3 and our client, Saxon Weald, who we are currently supporting to retrofit their housing stock under the WH:SHF Wave 3 funding scheme.

Carbon3 provided a detailed presentation and live demonstration on the PV system being installed. This hands-on approach highlighted the strength of our collaborative working practices and gave the Saxon Weald team valuable insight into the system’s performance, installation, and application on site.
