Picture Palace
Niblock were pleased to be involved with essential repair works at the iconic Picture Palace building in Harlesden. Brent Council hope to see the building, which was previously used as a cinema and pub, eventually transformed into a vibrant and important hub for community and cultural uses. The project provided work experience placements for the local community.
Works were carried out in two stages.
Phase One Works: External repair and redecoration

Replacement of three flat roofs, repairs of two flat roofs, overcovering a gutter and renewing coating to pitched metal roof.

Render and brickwork repairs and redecorations

Repairs and redecoration to timber doors and windows

Replacement of structural steel beams

General repairs to hardstanding, rainwater goods and facias
Phase Two Works: Internal repair and redecoration

Internal fabric repair, redecoration and mechanical and electrical remedial works

A gate was installed to the entrance to the south alleyway adjoining the building
